safety concerns?

Are there are safety concerns with keeping puffers? I know that they all produce a very dangerous poision and I was wondering if they were really safe to keep and if so, any there any precautions to take when around them?

Don't think there would be a problem so long as you don't eat your puffers.

Some websites reccomend wearing gloves when you handle them eg if you ever needed to trim their teeth, but my puffer nibbles my hands when i put them in the water and i'm still alive

The puffers poinson is in an internal organ, the liver I think, so unless you eat your puffer you'll be fine.
