Well, never used a "cycle in a bottle" product before, and must admit I had serious reservations. However, glad to report all went well....very well.
Followed Tetra's instructions to the letter, and at no point detected any ammonia or nitrite, even trying two alternative test kits as I'd pre-convinced myself I would get a reading of some sort. Testing was done daily. Anyways, the fish themselves bare witness to how comfortable the tank is, they're displaying to each other, the colours on the cardinals are rich and vibrant, all eating ravenously. I also noticed that at no point did I see any of that new tank mistiness that's often evident, the water remained gin clear So, all I can report from my experience is a positive review of this product, did exactly what it said it could....allows the instant addition of fish and avoids the normal cycling process.
My tank conditions: Filled with 100% r/o, re-mineralized, temp 78f, ph 6.8, tds 220, numerous pieces of bogwood fully planted, co2 on a timer after day 3.
Thanks for looking.

Do you have a nitrate reading?

Yes, was around 12ppm when I set it up, baring in mind I did dose ferts from the outset. I haven't done a water change yet, its currently sitting around 20.

I'm guessing you was asking to see if this product was 'locking up" the ammonia, as most do, or actually cycling at a rate to utilize the ammonia as it's produced. I'm happy it was doing the latter as the nitrate level was seen to be increasing over days, so it was being produced quicker than the plants were utilizing it, and after my initial dose of fertilizer containing nitrate/phosphate, to give the plants a head start so to speak, none has been added since.

Yeah.exactly what I was wondering.
