i am a first time shipper of baby mystery snails. i have done one shipment to a friend an here soup with disastrous to all make it safely, and for as little money as possible.
what i used this time a small empty never used before bottle with three soaked cotton balls in a bubbled wrapped shipping container results. i sent her six and all the shells were cracked in one way or the other. while it appears by some luck they are alive i would like the next time i ship them i would like it to be pleasant for all of them. please any suggestions you can make would be helpful.

jiffy bag (bubble wrap in a postal packet) with kitchen roll soaked, then bag twice and put some cotton wool around the bags and then seal

mystery snails are not a pain, the do not multiply quickly like pond snails. they are good pets trust me.
as for the shipping so if i took each snail in wrapped each one in say like a tissue or paper towel then put them in a box or container with some water they would be ok?

they could get squished if something heavy is out on top of them
either use a cut up bit of plumbing pipe or use a hard cardboard tube to post them in to keep them protected from being squished
thats how i post mine

i seal one end with tape with holes in and stuff wet kitchen roll init , then put the snails in one by one putting some kitchen roll between them and put a little more kitchen roll the other end and some more tape with holes in then stick them in a bag , with some air init , put them in a jiffy bag and post them , first class post doing it that way is never more than £1.75 usually £1.45
mine are apple snails

Thanks Sarah x

do you have an example you can show me, i know it might be a pain but i am do what i am shown kind of girl.

A cardboard tube like a packing tube or something like a paper towel roll?

no soup....
If it were me.
I would try to also writing FRAGILE on the package. That might make a bit of difference.
Something solid, a paper towel tube would work, but i would use a TP roll instead, If you cut or rip, you are destroying the integrity of it.
Also place it vertical to help from the box being crushed.
I have also thought about using a bottle, maybe gatorade or something stiff like that. Not a soda bottle.

They were shipped to me not by me. lol

i was thinking that you might be able to double up the rolls. A toilet paper tube inside a paper towel tube perhaps...

Snails can be packed and shipped in exactly the same way that fish get packed. Put them into a plastic fish bag, add a small amount of water (about 1/4 of the bag) and then fill the bag up with air. If the snails are going to be in the bag for several days then use half air and half oxygen to fill the bag.
You can add a small piece of neutral block and a bit of Ammogon/ Zeolite. The neutral block will help stabilise the PH of the water, while the Ammogon will absorb any ammonia that is produced.
Once that is done put the bag inside another plastic bag and seal that up too. Then put the bag into and esky (polystyrene foam box) or a cardboard box lined with newspaper. Use an esky if you live in a cold climate or the weather is cold.
Seal the box/ esky up with masking/ packing tape, label it and send it off via a courier.

NB. don't feed the snails the night before they are sent off.
