Ever since I've started keeping fish 3 years ago Iv'e always avoided spraying room spray type things in my bedroom where my 3 tanks are because I always have thought it would reak havoc in my tanks.

Now im wondering as long as I spray away from the tanks and make sure their lids are on, would it be okay to spray smelly stuff in my room?

Do other people spray stuff in rooms with tanks and does it cause no problems???

Thanks

Wouldn't say i like the idea, just for the fact that there is no way to ensure 100% that it wont get in. But i use windex on all my tanks (outside glass) sprayed onto a paper towel before wiping. never had a problem. If you are aware of the affects and you know how to prevent the toxins from entering the tank i dont see why you cant

i have done in the past, but i then had platy fry in a n open tank not far from a plug in air freshner.. needles to say i lost most of them
cant say i use a lot of the stuff but if i do i spray it at the opposite end of the room ( and not too much)

but someone is bound to say i`m in the wrong,... diffrent people will tell u diffrent things i spose :)
tip* for a fresh smell.. just open a window, much safer all round ;)

I'd avoid it if you can, anything airbourne can be absorbed into the water, and while it may not kill the fish straight away, it may degrade their health over a period of time.

I go out into the hallway/bathroom to now as not only could it affect the fish but because it killed my last PC's GFX card by it taking in all the heavy practicals which built up on the fans and caused it to stop and overheat

i hear that. my Graphics card is suffering too! (sodin hair spray)

as for the fish, i guess it must pass on. but its hard to say it affects my fish.

you should always take the cover off a pc and hoover it or blow it out with an airline

I have to strip mine down periodically as it gets clogged with dust easily. Hasn't killed it yet but better to be safe than sorry.

never thought of this...thanks for the heads up

bobo.. use a lot of hair spray do ya ;) ;)

lol. i live in a world of women. three girls + wife. wife only has sisters and the sisters only have girls. the comp smells like a hair salon, when i clean it.

yep me too, but the intervals are going down. it seems less and less time between each strip. and it takes the best part of a day to get the taste out of my mouth, from the dust, yuck.
