Fish Crazy
We don`t have any prominent LFS here, normally its just small veterans who just own one shop. The procedure is get some fish from the wholesale market , keep them in tanks ranging from 20g-30gs and glass jars for bettas and then sit on a wooden bench waiting for customers. Speak all sorts of BS; specially how easy it is (just get this and that and that). Now thats from where my journey in fish keeping journey began (thank god i chose to research the fish the next day i brought it).
Anyways now this guy has a son in law who is into fish too and he`s more of a goner than you can imagine. HE made himself a 4X1.5X1 feet and he thinks he can add any amount of fish. when i saw it I was like yuck there where atleast 100 medium to small sized fishes there and 10 angels and 6 balasharks.
NOw after reading and learning about fish keeping I once went and told him that he will end up killing many fishes. But i guess he only treats them as inventory and got offended because i told him he was wrong and some customers asked me how to start with fish and i told them the correct way.
Anyways that 3 weeks ago before my exams n stuff, today i was going to get credit for my phone when i saw his four footer, There were no angels and nothing as seen before. there were discus and scissor tails and sharpe tetras and bala sharks. I guess he must have sold it. ALas while i was checking the tank out, an associate came in and started talking to me, i asked him when did he get the discus.
NOw heres the scene...
Associate:EK Shopta Hoyechey ( Its been one week)
Tumi jaano ekta discus er daam koto (Do you know How much one discus costs)
Me: Nah, Bolo (Nope, say)
Associate: Ami CHohTA discus niye asshlaam 3500 taka tey (I brought six of them for rs.3500 ie 60 squids approx)
(now he is counting them )Ek,DUUEH, TEEN. CHAAR, PAACH.,,,,, PAACh...erey maach ta kothaey ? (one,two,three,four,five......five ..hey wheres the sixth fish)
one of his helpers frantically searching for the fish, i guess he even searched his pocets. Then i heard one pointing out at something, something which cut my heart when i saw it. An orange discus lying still at the bottom. I am just so aggravated i could`ve broke his head.
I am in office and I just can`t stop thinking that scene , had to take it out of my system
