I have some Bala Sharks, good size ones too. One of which is a good 7 or 8 inches. They are at the point where I can no longer safely keep 'em. So I think I'm gonna have to take 'em to a pet store. The trip is about 30 minutes one way. Knowing this what is the best way to transport them, should I fill up a 10 gallon up with some water from their aquarium their in now? What about air?

you can be kind and get air tablets from the pet store

Also they get fish delivered often.

They may even supply you with a cardboard and poly bagged box with insulation that fish fly from other pats of the world in.

This would also let them know you are on your way and alow them to say yes we can accomodate them.

I am in the same predicament not as far to the lfs but I cannot bring myself to so it.

Have offered on Buy sell swap but no one wants them.

I am gonna have to b ite the bullet one day.

You should be able to put them in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid and they will be fine. If you want to be on the safe side, use one bucket for wach fish. I wouldn't worry about air as there will be plenty in the bucket of water for the short trip. Before you take them back, be sure you find out what they do with them. If it isn't a true fish store, they may destroy them rather than put them back in their tanks for fear of thm carrying disease or parasites.

I talked to the FS girl, she said they'd take them and they will question whoever buys them, to see what kind of tank they are gonna put them in, last thing I want is for some 6 year old to buy them to put in a 10 gallon tank.
