Rummy Noses Or Cardinals

been offered a good price on either rummynose tetras or cardinal tetras. i can get 20 fish for £15. in the tank i currently have the following:

6 congo tetra
4 corydoras
1 opaline gourami
1 sailfin plec

what do u kind forum members think i should go for??

I would go for the Cardinals - the blue stripe would compliment the gourami and the blue sheen of the congos.
Dont suppose the offer of 20 for £15 is open to everyone is it?!?!

its a 240l tank. its been running over two years with 2 filters filters running.

im swaying towards the rummynoses, just a bit different from the cardinals.

any other advice

Are you sure both are ok?? Because my plec is nearly 9 inches long already.

i considered that but really want that look of a good grouping shoal. i am very special. i can also get two corydoras julii for £10 but the tetra deal is much better imo.

The reason I asked how long the tank was running for was because cardinals dont do well in tanks younger than 6 months old but at 2 years it will be nice and mature.

Personally, I wouldnt go for either. If you are buying them because you like them then thats fine but I wouldnt buy them just to make use of the offer. I much prefer a nice big shoal of copper harlequins

im just wanting to add a splash of colour to the setup. i know that both will offer that but think ive decided on the rummynoses.

don't be fooled by the idea of a 'shoal' most of my shoals have only ever shoaled when they first go in the tank, then they randomly scatter about and the way they dart around the tank you wouldn't know from a distance which fish was which but it's up to you and due to the hardiness issue I would go with the rummynoses

If I were you, I'd go with both.

Cardinals and rummynoses are both excellent fish, although I agree with arobinson1984- cardinals need a fully mature tank. That being said, I've heard it's a bit of a challenge to acclimate rummynoses at first, but that afterwards they're fine. In terms of schooling behavior, I'd have to say the rummies take the cake.
