I have 6 rummy nose tetras which have been in my tank for around 2 weeks. I think the smallest tetra was getting bullied as he spent a lot if time hiding in the corner and behind a plant. He started coming out from the plant and swimming with the others and seemed fine for a few days. I have since added 6 male guppies and they seem to be mixing and swimming around together apart from the small guppy who has started hiding again. He comes out from time to time for a swim but not very often. His face is not red and the same colour as his body. He has been eating well but hasn't seemed interested today. Please help as I am worried he isn't going to make it.

If you are positive he is getting bullied, add another fish of his kind. Since you have an even number of fish, you want to make it an odd number because it drives the attention away from each other. This usually helps in bully situations. If this isn't the problem, he might have not adjusted well to your tank. If that's the case just let him be, there's is nothing you can do. How big is your tank?

Tank is 100l. I was worried he wasn't going to make it through the night but he has survived. He's not really swimming around just floating now in the middle of the tank. At times it looks like he is tilting on an angle but pulls himself back up straight.

How long ago did you add him to the tank? Is there any evidence of bite marks or missing fins?

He's been in there about 2 weeks. No I can't see any evidence of anything. The other fish don't bother him at all anymore. He kind of just drifts around the middle of the tank or stays begin the plant.
Sorry just read back my original post. It's the small tetra that's hiding.

when he came out of hiding and started swimming about more was this after a water change?

It sounds like he is sick, some fish will just go of and hide when they are sick. Do a water change and see what happens, see if he perks up any. If he is floating around looking disorientated I would guess its a bacterial infection. If the water change perks him up do small daily water changes see if he improves.

I wouldnt say it was after a water change.
He comes out when i do a water change do to the disturbance.
I did a water change last night and he continued to hid in the plant again after or just float around in the middle of the tank. I have been watching him closing to see if there is anything viable that i can see on him but there isnt apart from the fact he doesnt have a red face. I will stat changing the water daily and see if this helps.

I thought he was just hiding originally because he was possibly being bullied but doesnt seem to be the case now as he got better and has now got worse. Thanks for all your help.

loosing colour is a sign of stress, sadly fish cannot tell you what the problem is. I would most likely be a bacterial problem, you could try some antibacterial medication, something broad band and general tonic such as Esha 2000 because a water change does not do anything for him.

It concerns me he is not swimming around with the other tetras because he is a schooling fish. It could most likely be a bacterial infection because he didn't adjust to your tank well. I personally do not use medications because I don't like adding chemicals to my water; however, don't let that stop you. If you plan on treating him with medication, I would recommend keeping him in quarantine this way you other fish are not affected.

I did everything I could for him but unfortunately he was found dead this morning. Keeping a close eye on the other but they all seem fine nd are eating.

So sorry :(, It could have been the stress of moving, it happens sometimes.
