I have 2 Ruby Rams in a Juwel 120. They are excellent community fish but spend their time avoiding eachother and when they meet they mouth wrestle and headbut eachother. Is this normal? and would adding a couple more solve this or make this worse.

are the ruby rams by any chance a color morph of the blue ram species?

My guess would be Bolivian Rams?... In some stores, I know they're sold as Ruby Clown or Ruby Clown Cichlids.....

They could be fighting or pairing off for mating... Do you know what sex they are?

I never heard of Ruby Rams. I have a couple of male Bolivian Rams (see one below) in my 72G US tank. One used to pick on the other in the same manner as you described... for the first few weeks I owned them. Now, they pretty much avoid each other... or at least tolerate each other.

I,m not sure what they are then. The guy in the LFS labels them up as Ruby Rams. I looked them up and they seem to look like Columbian Cichlids. Generally grey in colour with yellow 'bruising' colour around gills and lower head. Red stripes top and bottom of tail fin.

I would guess they are bolivians. My bolvians were labelled Ruby Rams were i got them from.

How do I do this?
well if you have a digital camera you can upload the pic to the computer, and sometimes you can just attach the image, but if not you can use photobucket or a similar program, upload the pic though that and then copy and past the IMG tag that they provide.

Right, I have a photo I wish to post. The IMG button refers to a address path and I cant paste into this! Also what is photobucket? :dunno:

photobucket is a online photo thing, it uploads the pics, and gives a URL to paste in the IMG tag.
