OK I bought this betta a while back (my liddle Caspian) and was told he will either be delta or roundtail, well he isn't delta so he must be roundtail. i've never heard of them before but he has 2 rays but isn't a VT. Well anyway he's pretty and I love him, just wondering what the heck a roundtail is, as I never hear them mentioned on here. are they rare/popular/desirable?? I'm dead confused, it's like a new tail or something???

im more than positive but open to be corrected but i think that the round tail is a tail that is created in between the long winded attempt to create HMs by crossing PK and VT, F1 produce VT fry, F2 produce short tailed VT, F3 pruduce delta and finally F4 produce the roudtails, thn beyong that you are going into the SD or even HM at F5, my statement maybe a little off but like i said more than positive that this is how they are created by using the fry that show the most branching in each batch.

LMAO yeah never mind the spelling mistakes, F1, F2, F3?????????? tumbleweed moment for me that!

F1,2,3, and so on is the batch of fry produced from using the same genetics or family of bettas by crossing siblings or the young with the parent, the first set of fry from the original parents is called the F1 and so on, rarely to be seen to go beyond F8 without bringing in new blood lines
