The Round Banded Barb is a relatively new species in the trade, although its attractive markings may create increasing interest. Specimens offered for sale are often colour fed, and this may fade but will return under good aquarium conditions. Like many small barbs, these are peaceful shoaling fish and should be kept in groups. Although they may adapt to harder water, these fish will only look at their best in soft conditions. Provide hiding spots amongst plants, shaded areas, and good general water quality. May be sensitive to high nitrates.
