Rotkeil X Efaciatus

My friend has a ton of Rotkiel (father) x Efaciatus (green, mother), and asked me if i want some, at the moment they look like 10p sized gerneric Severums, will they get the red shoulder etc? or just lok like normal greens?

I heard recently that the young get the Fathers colours and the Mothers shape usually so they will probably turn out like XL Rotkiel. But its not an exact science.

Thats what i was hoping, the father was one of my batch of 20 Rotkeils i sold lol! seeing his adult male i'm gutted i sold them now lol.

I so wondered if this would happen and seems like you should hear about it more often given the number of tanks with both fish. I have a female rotkeil in with a super red efasciatus. I think you should get a couple and grow them out then post pictures. Come on take one for the forum!

Yeh i will do, they area bit small yet to go in my tank tho, my Fish will eat them

As for Super reds, they are mostly infertile like Blood Parrots.
