Fishaholic
so along time ago my boyfriend came to the lfs with me for some snake food, and while we were there he started looking around. after several minutes wandering he spotted some rope fish and said he liked them and so on. at the time we didn't live together, so i didn't think much of it knowing he would never set up a tank of his own at the time. we have been talking over the last few days about setting up a larger tank when we move into a new place when he remembered the rope fish..... i can't and won't tell him no till i know a bit more about them first(he likes to get things but leaves me to take care of them cause im the animal person). i know they get to be very long(24"+ if i remember correctly), they are supposed to be fine with others of their own kind, and will eat just about anything that will fit in their mouth. what i want to know is what size tank would they need, what foods do they do best on, how much do i have to worry about them escaping from the tank, and are they even legal in upstate new york? is there anyone who has had experience with these fish that might be able to help?
