How do use root tabs?

where do u pu t them in the tank?

what substrate have thy to be used in?

and how long does it usually last for?

You push them into the substrate (whatever kind it is) at the base of the plants as per the instructions. How long they last varies.

I prefer to use root balls myself, these last much longer and contain clay etc which helps to give the roots something to grow into. I also prefer to dose a fert, even if it's only a trace one, into the water column as well.

do you put them at the base of the plant? and does it just do for the one plant, i mean the root tabs?

also how many can u use in a tank or does it vary whatever make u have?

i got 9 'tabs' in a bag when i orderd plants from plants-alive. I'm assuming these are root tabs?! :p

I only use root tabs with some plants that are typical big root feeders. Bulb plants are about the only thing I use root tabs in my tank. I usually push them about 2" down and then plant the bulb 1" down and 1"-2" to the side of the root tabs - I usually push in two per bulb and don't add more for 4 months or so.
