Rocks Quick Advice

The one on the right is slate so its inert and should be fine if you wash it (though it does look a bit sharp).
Dunno about the other two, there's a topic on identifying rocks suitable for aquarium use, I think it's pinned somewhere.

Its here.

it should be ok - just wash them

i use garden rocks -they have always been fine

all look to be slate, on the whole inert and safe
however the brown marks on the middle bit look to be rust marks.
are they just rust marks where rusty water has dripped on it, or do the marks run all the way through the slate?

oh yer would a apple snail and molly fry be ok in one tank?

looks good to me :)

hey could u tell me what filter that is ( if its a filter :) )

i think its just a air pump but for some reason it has gravel then a sponge in two comparments

aww ok, looked like the kinda filter i could do with atm.. :look:

Thats a penn-plax small world filter, pretty crappy, but its small and neat.
It has carbon in it so you need to replace it every couple of months or something.
This means you need to shed more money on the replacement cartridges, and it renders the biological part of the filter (the sponge) useless.

I use one in triops tanks with (filter wool instead of carbon) and the sponge part.

Yes it is, you can buy them at pets@home.
Although it doesnt matter what socket they are for, they are powered by an airpump.
You can buy them as kits with the airpump, but the airpump that comes with them is rubbish and prone to breaking.
So you may as well buy the cheaper one without the airpump, then buy a better airpump seperatly.

aww man its not for UK socket :(

mine has a uk socket. i went into the fish shop and said do have any sponge filters and this was all he had and he wasn't really sure what he was talking about so what ever
