Hi guys, I've bought some rock for my aquarium and wondered how I clean it before I use it?
It's ocean rock and its a tropical tank

I've always boiled mine for 10/15 minutes before it goes in my tank (and made sure it is suitable for freshwater), also maybe worthwhile using an old toothbrush and scrubbing with some warm water, being careful to avoid any detergents or soap.

Cool yeah it's suitable for tropical made sure of that first. I'll give them a clean and boil away and then put them in I'll see what happens! Fingers crossed

Don't boil it, it may crack or explode.

Pour a couple of kettles worth of boiling water over it and then give it a scrub in the sink with the tap running.

That's all you need to do. Ocean rock will leach carbonated into your water so expect your pH to rise.
