Hi
I'm trying to develop what I believe to be a new design of aquarium stand and am looking for anyone who may be interested in building their aquarium into a rockscape. It would appear that most stands are of similar design i.e. a box which does nothing to show off the fish or their real life environment. I work with faux rock or (decorative concrete - the stuff that they build theme parks with) and a client had mentioned when he had seen some of the other work I'd done, that an aquarium would look great built into a rock....great idea I thought......
Without boring you with details, the aquarium would be complely built into what looks like real rock, but would also incorporate secret maintenance doors and a lid as part of the rock and coloured to suit the decor if required. It can be free standing (in the middle of a floor for example) or against a wall. A rock scape could also be created around the aquarium if it was built into the wall.
I am aware the commercial restrictions on the forum, but feel that this is potentially quite a major development in the creation of realistic fish environments that you may support this topic. I hope that you share this view and submit it to your members.
