1st of all, not fair! i have the 50gpd and its only 2.50 quid cheaper now! JOKE! ohwell.

It basically claims that it can produce up to 75 gallons of RO water with the correct water pressure.
It does waste quite alot of water like 3:1 ratio (waste:RO water) but it needds to do this, however u can use it for watering the plants etc in the summer, or just having the waste water going into the drains as then its only re used. The waste water is still safe its just got all the naf stuff in the water.

WARNING: make sure u have atleast 60PSI on your water mains... lower then that you can produce quality water with osmotics unless you buy a pump booster. Where you gunna run it from?

As for Putting it in the tank, buy a 2nd heater then you can produce same temp water properly, make sure you also use PH buffer like TMC triple buffer, which boosts the PH and puts all the trace elements in the water as RO is about 6.5PH and has basically nothing in it so dont ever put just plain RO in.

we would run it from a outside garden tap beacuse thats the only hard water tap is this ok?

also how much is a booster and could u show me an example plz?

Ah perfect just like moi!

Ok if it was me, as i did i would advise when you buy the Ro unit buy a Pressure (PSI) Gauge sp?. And a Quick fit T piece as this then enables you to read your water pressure levels, saves u just wasting water and putting bad Ro in the tank. Here are the links

Then cut and fit the gauge here between the carbon stage and then the membrane.as ive done on mine...

If you see when you prehaps buy one its all quick push fit fittings so it can be very easy to take out tubes and cut them to size.

Right as for fitting it to the garden tap you will need these things a garden tap adaptor and a garden hose adaptor. This well enable you to plumb it onto your tap.

Here is how ive done mine with Hozelock female connectors, garden hose and a garden hose adaptor, which u can get at the garden centre.

Here ive broken it down to show how it fits together...

As for a booster i osmotics sell them and they are expensive, roughly £65+
Here http://www.osmotics.co.uk/ro-system-booster-pump-p-70.html

But i would try without 1st as i was lucky and get exactly the min 60psi on my tap (when no washing machine is on  )

Hope this helps :good:

all so complicated now but il work it out  :D

if i would buy a just a ro unit and run it with that is that ok or are u saying i have to have that thingy/everthing? lol

I would say you def need the 2 hose attachments otherwise you will get thr RO unit then just go, S*** i wont work on the tap lol.
But the Pressure Gauge is a def good thing about buying as it can then deter if you need the booster (which u dont need to buy unless low Pressure).

Yes, thats a deffo as tap water is roughly 7.0ph depending on where you are but Ro units drop it down to 6- 6.5. so def need buffer, I recomend TMC triple buffer its good stuff and adds trace elements for marine. :good:

ok if i bought ro water from shop would i need to buffer that or is that all ok ?

Urm, think so best to ask your LFS, as it might also be used for Discus fish as they like soft water at like 7.0 ph.

ok if i bought ro water from shop would i need to buffer that or is that all ok ?

If you buy salted RO it shoudl already be the correct PH as its from their RO system. Double check though to make sure. If you buy unsalted then you will need to add salt to bring it up to the correct SG and possibly buffer it as it will be soft. (not sure as I only buy salted)

if i i didnt use ro water (just an idea) i got this with the stuff i bought off ebay the man said run it at low speed water and it will filter water into tank and take about 20 hours i have just seen a water purifer similar to this so is this a water purifer? and would this be ok to fill tank??or shall i just stick with ro water

You can use purifiers, and they do the trick, you just have to replace the media like every 6 months where RO is up too 2500 liters so that could be a year in ur case and they only cost 14 quid for both stages at the bottom. But yer ive known people to have both used these in marine andhave been fine.
