Yes, its fine to go ahead with your plan all should be good, you will get a diatom outbreak, but that will just be the silicates in the sand, not a cycle.

what so i do about the diatom just leave it and what is it lol take ot cuc should sort this out , im off in min to get 25l of ro and 25l of ro salted ill prob run for few hours with the ro in and them empty was clean out then refill with the salted fill tank back up dump sand in should i leave it to settle with out pump on ?

Cuc will take care of the diatoms for you, I wouldn't turn off the pumps as you will have live rock in there, the sand will settle in approx 24 hrs or less

cheers fishy well i wanted the front rock to host all my mush on the left as it fitted at front well but dont really have any flat bits for other frags so lucky for me with the mush i have just placed them there and they taken to it stright away aprt from one but thats now stayed there 4rd time lucky lol

i have moved the green rock now and the frag that was on that rock so the green mush is on same rock will upload new pic tomorrow

how did you do it? my mushroom seffie sent got lost, then when i was searching for my bangii i found it so i just moved the rock to the front.
do you know anywhere cheap to get em for future reference? dont have much spare, but i would love a amazing mush rock like that

well tbh all i did was place them on the rock and made sure the flow was low so they didnt move for a day or 2 then they just tock to the rock and to get them of the old rock just pulled them lol ive left the green one on his rock for now but will move him off and on to main rock at weekend im plannin to get a nice mix of colours on the rock and mix them all up as all rocks i seen have had mainly same colour mush only

Right back to the tanks well went and got my 25L of RO and 25L of salter and ended up gettin them for free lol whooops ive emptyed the orca and lettin it dry and need so silcone the bottom of weir as water gets tho at bottom where some of the silcone has gone so want to stop sand gettin in rear but not in rush anyway as not doin anything till next weekend

Now the RR Im plannin on gettin 2 new pumps for the rear at mo i have 2 Maxijets 1200 but want less flow on bottom and more flow on top one so going for a 800 newjet and a 1700 newjet so flow will still increase from 2400 to 2500 but will hopefully cure my sand blowing around on bottom corner as goin from 1200 to 800

gettin 20lbs of AROGONITE FIJI PINK CARIBSEA i think this should be plenty and best sand to get and plannin and blockin up the vents on left so water only goes tho the weir combs im sure ppl have done this just gotta find a link to what to do lol


also goin to build a media rack for one of the rear chambers but cant find anything about how to do this but seen loads of ppl done it

I've seen people use putty to block the inlets on the left, to be fair I never did as I was happy with the flow

The media rack is just some eggcrate cable tied together which slots into a rear chamber

hey Stampos i did see that ppl said its better for the RR with the 2 vents blocked as it draws water tho all the media ? was just 1 thing was thinkin of as ill have tank empty and as for the eggcrate i bought some last week just nor sure on what way to do meanin how many shelfs and that? but im thinkin of stickin it in chamber 1 as in 2 i have my heter and will have LR rub and in number 3 ill hopefuly be stickin a skimmer if it turns up and course pumps in number 4
