Yesterday, my littlest sister noticed that Chase was sleeping on his side on a plant. I went over and tapped on the glass and he didn't move.
Usually he moves when I do that. I was hoping that he was just faking dead again, because he did that a lot. But he hasn't moved since Saturday.
I had him for over a year. I got him on July 5, 2006. Since most bettas are about a year old when you buy them, he lived for 2 years and 3 months. He had a good long life, but I will miss him. He was my first betta. I was hoping to take him to college with me. I think he must have died from old age because he was fine on Friday.
I'm going to bury him in our yard where we buried both hamsters and goldfish. I'll have to wait until tomorrow, though, because I'm working tonight.
RIP little Chase.
Here are some pics and videos of him.
