Rio 180 T8 Light Bar

Was sat down earlier this evening when the light in my Rio 180 turned off. I've reseated the tubes (T8) but nothing. If I put my ear on the light bar I can her current so the plug/fuse is fine.

Both tubes on the light bar are out, does this mean it's the starter and not the tubes?

If the tubes have blown they normally go black on the ends,do you have a flourescent light you can take the starter out of just to try it?
The starter normally just flickers the lights if its gone and won't turn the tubes on...

no black on the tubes, and no flicking can be heard, i can just hear a very faint (normal) buzzing if I hold my ear against it.

can you remove the starter from these lights?

May be the lighting unit... i think they may be a sealed unit and not easily repaired although i'n no certain.

yes these are royal pains, the starter motor is housed in the closed unit, i have two tanks and both have recently gone,im no good with diy,lucky for me i had lots of spare light units so just use these

before you go cutting it open!!! like i did

Check one of the bulbs hasn't cracked like mine had
