I've been setting up this tank for the last 2 weeks, having tried to plan the planting with low light plants (see my planted journal). I think I've got it to a point where I'm more or less happy to let it grow now. I just need to sort out a routine with fertilisers etc :)

Anyway, heres a pic:

The breeding net is for a sick leopard danio :( Also, the internal fluval filters will come out in the next week or so, once the external has fully cycled :)

More pics to follow!

Thanks :)

I was playing with the idea of sand, so I figured I'd go with both :D Need to add a little more, as its a bit patchy

I'm going to add another light unit. Managed to get one dirt cheap and I have a spare (old) bulb. Just need to figure out how to attach it :D

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Heres another few pics, more pics on my planted tank journal:

I've just bought some fish too! They are currently floating, waiting to be released! 8x Pentazona Barbs and 8x Harlequin Rasboras. I can't wait!

Looking good. Thanks for the spare plants you passed on...
Keep the pics coming.

Looking good.

Thanks for the Plant Also.

You're both welcome :)

Well, released the little guys a short while ago. Initially the pentazonas were being a bit apprehensive and stayed in the safety of the vallis leaves. The harlequins all shoaled about near the top and explored a bit. The danios seem very happy for the company and have been leading the harlequins around the tank, seemingly giving them the tour

The pentazonas soon came out and seemed to find a good sandy spot and all sat there picking at food particles in the sand. Since, they've all been exploring, the pentazonas seem fairly relaxed and swim about slowly while the rasboras do the same, they just do it more quickly :D

Happy so far! I'm going to sit an watch for hours now!

Well, all looking good so far :)

My CAE came out and did his grumpy sabre rattling routine, but he's settled down now. If anything he seems more active. He's actually out and, wait for it, trying to eat algae from the glass/plant leaves! He hasn't done that for a while!

The Danios are now honourary harlequin rasboras  They are shoaling together, and splitting into 2 groups.

The Pentazonas are quite dosile. They have been swimming about a bit, but seem perfectly happy to hang out in one particular area of the plants. They sort of hang around, pick at the sand a bit, hang about some more. Hard life :D

They all seem comfortable with the lights on now, so all good! :good: Pics to follow tomorrow :)

Well, its been a while, but heres a quick pic of how its looking after a bit of a re-scape and stuff :)
