Rio 125l Stocking

Hey everyone

New to the forum here and been reading and learning for awhile now. I'm looking for some advice and suggestions as to stocking for my 125l rio - its still running the usual filter that they come with.

Recently i lost all my stock due to some internal bacteria and whitespot (almost all fish dead within 24 hours). Done full cycles of whitespot and then internal bacteria treatment and left to settle for a while. after the bacteria and whitespot hit i was left with 4 bottom feeders (corys?) and 1 female dwarf gourami which are all doing well. ive added some more stock gradually over the past few weeks and currently have:

4 corys - 1 albino 3 peppered
6 harlequins
1 dwarf gourami (female)
1 snowball pleco

any suggestions as to what would go well in here/advice for anything?? - both appreciated in equal measure

Not sure if you are aware, but if your plec is a true snowball plec (L142) then it will outgrow a 125L tank, they grow anywhere between 10-12"

I'd up the harlequins to 12/14 to make a nice shoal of them and up cories to 6, maybe get another 2 albino to even it out.

cheers for fast reply - pleco is an L102 i believe so not as large(?). was thinking about adding 2 more albino corys to bring that to 6 total.

have looked into the possibility of another type of gourami along with a male for the female?

You have to be careful with the gouramis and get the mix right otherwise they can become aggressive to each other.

The L102 snowball will be fine as long as it wasnt mis-sold by your lfs.

How about another shoal such endlers or rummy nose tetras?

yer - will have to keep an eye on the pleco and if he is getting too big will have to sort that. LFS is usually pretty good but have noticed plecos seem to be mis sold sometimes (generally speaking)

I have looked at possibly a shoal of rummy nose tetras or building up the harlequins - they are really active which is great so that will prob be done, I'm a fan of larger shoals around tanks.

was looking for kind of a centre piece fish aswell - although i don't really know what would go well, as you said with gouramis its difficult with the 1 female dwarf there
