Right Temp.

I could put them on heat mats... Each one is 6"X6" so I'd need 12 mats.
$35 x 12= $420.

I can't really afford that.

Perhaps I could just warm up the bed room?

Any other Ideas?

Just had a realy quick look, dont know if it the cheapest but....

But what happens at night? You cant keep a light on 24 hrs a day.

Check the sizes of heatmats on the net :good:

This was the heat mat we used when we first started and it would hold 20 of those jars.

Wow. That one is huge!

I know it varies, but could some one use underscores to show me how big they should be when they need separating?

Start thinking of seperating at around 8/10 weeks old, or if there are any signs of aggression. Size varies so not a good guideline.

If my fry are a little over 3 weeks old, could i Separate one and see how it does in that container idea?

Theres some matts some on ebay that size for just under £20 i think, the contiainers iv just got for them, would only fit 10/14 on, 14 iv i squeeze them on, if i stacked them, would the top ones still get some heat do you think?

You'd need a mat stat to make sure they don't over or under heat and a thermometer which we moved every day to a different jar to make sure they were all at the correct temp.

No point untill you can keep the temp stable. You may even have all females, but you wont be able to tell for ages yet.

Maybe it would be cheaper to buy one of them big plastic box's, you could try and find one big enought to fit all of your containers in, sit them in it, fill it up with some water and put your heater in that ?????

Can you sex them by 8 weeks?

I meant after i get t stable; even if there isn't a point. I guess I'm asking if it would hurt that one fry.
