After having seen Wills tank that he`d scaped for his Badis, I decided to pay a visit to MA this afternoon to change the scaping of my Badis and RCS tank and this is the result:

haha cool :D

Looks really nice :D Love the shrimp they look awesome! Wish I could get some more livestock for my tank but waiting to see the right stuff :/ Might be getting some micro danio later this week though :D How are yours getting on now? Mine are getting really really active now and the male is hilarious always chasing the females from his home and his pattern is just incredible! I cant believe how bright and bold his lines are at this size!

looking good!

did you buy all of those cherry shrimp today, cos that must have cost you a fortune!

ps, take the plants out of the pots, they'll do loads better. :good:

Thanks. Couldn`t not give you a mention as I love your tank!! :D :D

My male is colouring up nicely now but he`s still pretty wary. He`s still hiding in the Java Moss and doesn`t really bother with the females who are out and about all the time. :/

lol no I already had the RCS, they`ve just bred like rabbits, hence nelly is sorting out picking some of them up this week I think....well I hope!

I have taken the plants out of the pots....honest  I just left the clay ring round the roots so they`d stay in the sand.......forgot to make sure they were covered with the sand though

I love that mushroom-y plant at the back

Thanks Carl :D

Very nice, like the twisty root, very nice tank :good:

Thanks kiriyama :D

I`ve added a background to the tank today andI am really, really chuffed with it. I think it looks great......even if I do say so myself

Looks even better now. really draws your eyes to the middle and the knotted wood :hyper: What did you use for the background elisew. Is it in the tank or just on the back.
Added some plants to mine now,(pics are on my post)

IMO, only thing I would do is add some duckweed to the tank! :hey: :good:

Alex I just bought some of the plastic background sheeting from lfs, solid black on one side and solid blue on the other side. I`ve used this on my 360L as well and it`s actually really decent stuff and it gives a much better finish to the tank I think. It`s on the outside of the tank, just used cellotape to attach it after I`d cut it to shape :)

Carl, yeah I actually agree that I need some floating plants, not sure on duckweed though as I`ve no experience with the stuff and don`t know what it`s like

The background really makes a difference, have black on the main tank and had blue on the 46fishbox, really nice, really makes the colours stand out, and hides the cables  :good:

Amazon Frigbit is nice if you can get it, nice long roots that suck up all the nitrates etc :good:

Thanks kiriyama :)

I`ve had a look at some pics of the frogbit and have bought some off of a Seller on ebay. I reckon it`ll look nice with long roots coming down into the tank :good:

Thank you for the RCS.Have to say all your tanks look simply stunning, wish i had an eye for designing tanks and keeping live plants, the biggest tank is amazing, loving the variety of fish, always spotting something new every few minutes

Thanks nelly and you`re welcome :D :D

It`s taken me a while but like i was telling you yesterday, it`s only since I joined this forum that I`ve been able to gather enough knowledge and advice to have a nice looking tank/tanks, so I`m always grateful to the people who have helped me out. It`s funny how I took inspiration from Wills on the Badis tank because it was Wills and ChillPepper who were the very first members who helped me out when I first joined :good:

I think I may well have given up on my tank if I hadn`t found this forum :/

As for the variety in the big tank......I don`t do things by halves so like to have something a bit different

If you have some in with your shrimp they will climb in the roots :fish:
