Hi All,

I Bought a 2nd hand Juwel 70 litre tank, and the light decided to die just as I finished cycling it!

I'm trying to save money, so am going to replace it with another T8 tube rather than upgrading to T5's, but was wondering if I could get some advice? The tube currently in the lid is a Juwel Day-Lite 438mm 15W one.

Option 1 - Just get replacement Juwel tube (about £10)
Option 2 - Get a tube from this website (about £6 with p+p) - http://www.lampspecs.co.uk/Light-Bulbs-Tubes/Fluorescent-Tubes
Option 3 - I've found this one on homebase (could pick it up for £4.50) http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=899643

I'd like to save money if possible, so would probably get the homebase one if you guys think it looks okay. Also I was wondering if any on that lampspecs website are stronger/brighter? I'd like to put a few plants in the aquarium so don't mind paying a quid more if it'll help the plants out.

Thanks in advance :)

you dont want to use a standard "cool white" bulb, it wont look right....

if your not going to buy a proper aquarium light, buy a "daylight" type bulb

I've seen many people buy normal lights, It's entirely up to yourself.
