I currently have a marina 95l tank with aglo 20w Fluorescent Bulb in the hood. Does anyone know if this is strong enough for a low tech tank? If not do you know where I could get a stronger bulb and what size??

Thanks.

I recon that will be OK for a low tech. For low tech you want to avoid bright lighting. I would suggest trying out what you have and then after a few months it will be clear whether you need more light, less light or if what you have is OK

Thanks. IMG_20130806_184911.jpg

This is how my tank looks just now. Dosing ei ferts and liquid co2.

Looks nice and healthy, how long has it been planted for?

About 4-6 weeks first plants went in. That was the tall Cryptos at the back. Got the Java fern, moss and Anubis's about 3 weeks ago. Then the Valli's today.

I'd say that light is OK . if you wanted to grow the most demanding plants with pressurised co2 then you probably would need an upgrade, but as they say " if it ain't broke - don't fix it" :)
