i've got a new rena xp2 filter it's been running for about a week it was almost silent at first which is why i bought it as it's in a upstairs bedroom but now it has a noise that sounds like trickling water coming from the canister this only started about a day ago i thought it would just clear but it's still doing it, if i tip the canister up i can see a small amount of air at the top not sure if thats normal or not.
i've looked at the pipes and can't see any bubbles or air going through so it's definatly inside the canister.

Try tipping that canister at different angles to get the bubble out. A bubble can make an annoying noise and is seldom seen in a canister once it is first removed. If you have already done that, check the cap on the fill connection. It needs to be on tight to avoid getting any air in. I found on one of mine that I had a kink in the inlet hose because I had left it a bit too long. That caused the filter to get a buble of air into it fairly quickly until I trimmed the hose to the length they suggested in the instructions.
