I have snails which came in on plants. From the ID thread on here, I think they are pouch snails. They're usefully hoovering up algae atm, but I don't want to get over run with them. I've just noticed 2 patches of eggs on leaves. What's the best way to remove them? Can I just rub them of and squash them with my fingers?
:thanks:

I read that someone recommended to throw some cucumber in the tank and the snails can't resist it. Once they are all over the piece of cucumber, you can then take it out of the tank. Not sure if this works for all snails, but it worked for me. :good:

Edit: Tired eyes. I see you are talking about eggs now. Nevermind!!

Pond snails can eat some plants (elodea is the one that will get most beaten up) but mainly eat algae, squishing the adults can cause them to release eggs. They are an ok "pest" and effective algae buster they do get annoying if over fed but in the right light their shells have gorgeous colouration.
