Removing Paint From Carpets

Didnt know where else to put this, but hoping someone can help with this, particuarly if your a painter/decorator

How do you get matt emulsion paint out of carpets!? Ive spilt some dark blue paint on a beige carpet and I cannot get it out, tried whitespirit, its just left a light blue stain on it. Is there anything that can be used or am I stuck with blue splodges.

I spilt some paint once, and was told to let it dry and use scrunched up tin foil to scrub at it. It wasn't alot I spilt just a few drops here and there, but it did work.

Wd40 can also be used to lift it, white spirit was a bad idea as all you have done is liquidate the paint further so its deeper imbedded in the fibres.

To update, I put a rug over it
