Need a lil bit of help ! biggrin.gif

Tank is being set up as i type

As i said before there is an internal filter which in all respect is a bit crap :P but it seems to have been siliconed to the tank !!

We've empied all the filter out and basically left with a big emtpy box:S is there anyway we can remove it without messing the tank up ?

It's been siliconed where inside cornermeets the tank and at the outer edges Not Really fuseed if it 's there just worried incase fish get into it and end up gettin stuck

Think boyfriend just wants to remove for perfection kinda thing ! LOL

Any help would be great :D

guess its that ugly filter Juwel provides ? i wanted to change mine but had no idea how to get rid of it lol

i heard someone say that they cracked their tank trying to get it off, so be careful

lol thats why i came on here before tryin to remove it!! It ain't ever going to get used so think i may just get some nice tall plants to semi hide it ! :L:L:L

Managed to fill the hole with one of those wee rubber suckers pushed it through the whole and hey presto hole's gone ! :D lol

Sitting cleaning itself just now ! By god was there some amount of dirt in it !

Cant wait to get it all stocked up :D Plants n Gravel tomorrow ! :D Get pics up once it's cleared a bit :D

SO EXCITED :d:D:d:D:d:D:d:D:d:D:d:D:d:D:d:D lol

careful use of a craft knife blade, cutting the silicone which attaches the filter to the tanks. is the way to go here. don't try to pull the filter off until all the connections have been cut, this is one of the ways tanks get cracked. when it is removed, use vinegar to remove any remaining silicone from the sides of the tank.

Look at the similar topics box at the bottom of this page:

I have removed one and so have many people, havent heared of anyone cracking their tank though, if your carefull its easy:

Yer, i've done this and replaced it with an external filter.

If you get a long, sharp kitchen knife and verrrrrry carefully slide it down the gaps... just slowly ease it through the silicone, i think there's 2 or 3 blobs in total but I found once 1 was removed, you could literally just tear it out without any damage to anything.

Sorry, i forgot the last, most important thing. after you have removed the Juwel item, carefully take it to your back door. then throw it as hard as you can as far as possible. and hope no other poor sod finds it. :good:
