I have a Juwel Rekord 70. Loads of plants in it but i have a few questions:
1 - I have a Ferplast Co2 system in my other tank. It uses an electronic mixer, but i was thinking of attatching an airstone instead and putting it in the bottom of the filter. Would this work? Just didn't want the unsightly mixer in my tank.
2 - My tank uses a Juwel Monolux hood with a single tube. I'd like to add more light, but don't think i'd get another under it, are there any aftermarket ones i could use, or has anyone done any DIY on the monolux hood? I was thinking of adding an Interpet T5

Many thanks

For the hood - some on here have strapped a second T8 to the front of the hood under the feeding flap, this gives ~2wpg and is plenty. I didn't like the placement of the original tube so I ripped out all existing lighting and ballast and dropped in two T8 tubes, one nearer the back and one towards the front - I feel this gives a much more balanced light over the whole surface area and doesn't leave any dead/dark spots.

Up to you really - I did originally try a single Interpet PC T5 at 36w but found the single tube gave a massive bright patch directly below the tube (giving algae issues directly below the tube) but left the fish colours a bit poor hence my new light having one towards the front of the tank. 2wpg (or thereabouts, I have the Rekord60) is more than enough to grow anything in this size of tank in my opinion.

Ok thanks for that, i'll try a T8 instead.
