Refugium In A Jewel

Heya guys, i wanted to have a small refugium for my tank its a Jewel Rio 400, now ive emptied out the internal filter compartment and at the moment its just hiding equipment eg heater, filter inlet, blah blah
i was wondering if it were possible to turn this dead space into something useful like a fuge?

has anyone tried this before? is it practicle? any thoughts or opionions would be appreciated plus any ideas on how id go about it

i was thinking of putting some Chaetomorpha in there and then having its own light inside the hood case?

yer could be possible, need to drill a hole etc and have a return pump etc how ever i aint the best at sumps and refs. soz

this is the thing, its INSIDE the tank, just compartmented off with a few holes and bits for water movement and agitation

didnt know if it was wise or not being in the tank!
