Refugium Help

i would just wait until the tank is cycled and you have fish IMO

The live rock will be bought of the internet so will probly take upto a day getg into the tank so might have high die-off.

So what should the water parameteres be before adding macroalgae?

The water parameters ideally should have no ammonia, no nitrites and only nitrates around or below 20ppm. This would provide sufficient nutrients for the macro algae to absorb. I would recommend getting some chaetomorpha (spaghetti algae) as its very tough, doesn't go sexual an and doesn't break down like racemosa (grape/bubble algae) can. You can then add your cleanup crew too to clean up the rocks and stuff.

Do you think it would be adviseable to keep a pair of oysters in my Refugium? I have been looking on ebay and have seen the following Oysters for sale and was wondering if I could get a pair to thrive in my refugium as; if you read the description; not only do they filter the water but also their eggs produce a nutural food for fish and corals.

A guy I was speaking to a while ago stated he kept several oysters in his sump and they helped his system out a lot. Do you believe they may do the same for me and my reef tank? What are the tank size requirements for keeping them? Also how big do they grow? :/
