I am planning for my new 36 gallon bowfront reef. I have to get a Coral Beauty angelfish, and i cant get rid of my ocellaris clown. Whats the biggest "Centerpiece" fish i could have? Like 1 centerpiece, and then my other fish around it. What would i be able too keep with a Fuzzy dwarf lionfish?

Sorry for all the questions.

Another angel is out, as the coral beauty would destroy it.
Fuzzy Lionfish, as far as I know, need to be in groups, like 1 male and 1 or 2 females. I've never had one, so I don't know if you could keep one. You also need to be careful, as these guys will eat any CUP or invertebrates small enough to fit in its mouth.
I also think they need bigger tanks, I think a 50gallon minimum.

How about seahorses? A small group of dwarf seahorses or maybe even Estuary Seahorses if you want bigger ones. They will need marine plants like kelp or maiden's hair to hang on to, and probably a UV Sterilizer as they are messy eaters, eating only live or frozen brine and mysis shrimp.

Yah, i wasnt planning on seahorses, as i want a reef and not a species tank. Fizzy lion was just for laughs, i know there predators.

Thanks

The majority of Dwarf Angels are coral nippers and are better suited the FOWLR rather than true reefs....I lost many a coral to my CB (as well as the other angels I presume).

If you are planning on corals I would advise against the CB, at least until the reef is established.

Just to clear up any confusion by 'established' I mean 6mths+ after all LR is in and putting in your last corals. Any new corals put in after the CB will be seen as food IME whereas established ones are more likely to be left alone.

I like the candy hogfish. +1 on my stocking list!

I also want to add a mandarin but not until the tank is ayear old. :good:

So it's going to be

2x Maroon Clowns
1x Yellow Candy Hogfish
1x Green Mandarin
1x Coral Beauty Angel

I don'y know much about SW stocking, but maybe a nice school of chromis or damselfish would be lovely

What are you planning for CUC and corals?
You should get a sexy shrimp :hey:

IMO a Mandarin wouldn't survive in a 36g even if it was crammed full of LR and you had a good fuge growing pods. Despite what LFS say they do not eat flake, etc. they rely totally on pods so don't be sucked in by that one.

K no mandarin. Stocking
