I have *yet* to see a shop that does not sell Vallis (fish shop that is!) ;)

er yes to both.

straight vallis is er straight

twisted vallis is er twisted.

(i'm not pulling your leg either you can get both varieties)

growth rate depends on the ammount of light in your tank, wether you have CO2 and wether or not you add fertaliser.

in my tank (3 WPG "watts per gallon", 2 x Nutrafin CO2 units, weekly fertaliser) it grows about 1 to 2 foot a week.

in a low light tank with out co2 it should survive but wont flourish. it all depends on your set up.

if your not sure what you have please feel free to say so and i'll help you work it out.

ok i am going to try with the camera lol this should be fun! im sure i have the twisty vallis but it doesnt grow much :/

I've found mine grows better with lots of light. The plants under the light are massive whereas the others... aren't.

some of the plants are growing real fast but these dont seem to the lighting hood i have is arcadia 2 tube one of the tubes is more of a pinky tinge i assume this ones good 4 plant growth :/ But seems like my twisty vallis doesnt want to grow dependin if thats what it is :S

arcadia original tropical by any chance??

theyre old technology and dont do a lot for plants.

try full spectrum tubes next time you replace them, dennerle special plant (3000K - full spectrum) and arcadia fresh water (6500K - not full spectrum) are a good combination for plant growth and clear viewing.

depends on size? the dennerle are a bit more than average but well worth it.

arcadia fresh water is a pretty average tube, available everywhere. normal price

i only know of one shop that sells the dennerle tubes, i did a 3 hour round trip to buy 2 tubes, well worth it after seeing the results.
