I have some guppy fry, about an inch long. The noticed a few of them have got some red sign on their anal part. Is this disease or? THey are behaving naturally and happily.

I have seen an infection affect this area befor, but is usualy linked with poor water quality, so do twice weekly water changes of 15% and and treat with a good external tonic.

In uk I use Protozin or myxazin.

Anything Formalin based would be fine.

Mine all have it too, I just think its the gravid spot (not black, meaning, not preggo, normal type thing) cuz when my female has babies the spot turns back to pink/red.

Sorry to say that I am quite sure that is not gravid spot, as I know how a gravid spot looks like and this red spot grows on male guppy too. It must be kind of disease after few days observation. One of them is showing sign of not well.

ok let me rephrase that... its NOT a gravid spot, but its where the gravid spot WOULD be, in UNPREGNATED female fish (specially light colored, like my gold twin bar platy..
If this is a disease they can live through it well cuz my female guppy made it 2 years having this when she wasnt pregnant or right after birth where no visible fry were seen inside the belly.

Alls im saying is that every female I have seen with this could not be "diseased" although im not saying that there isnt a disease, but im giving a comment one what else it could be that your seeing.

I would like to say that the red spot you are refering to is not the redish "rashes" as I am seeing on my guppy's body. I do know the UNPREGNANTED guppy would have a red spot at their anal part, but this redish thing I saw is definitely not that!

These red rashes not only exist in female body, it does exist on male guppy's body too.

One of the infected female guppy is showing sign of not well.

Btw, thanks for your help...
