red worms

hi all one of my female Betta's has red worms hanging from underneath her from the anus, she is now in quarantine, i think this is thread worms IE nematodes any way of getting rid of the beggar's and should i treat the main tank i have done a 100% water change in the main tank has any one else had this and had the fish survive as have read up on them and it :sad: don't sound good for her but i dont want to loose her so any help would be better than no help at all, ,,,,,,,,,, :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:
 
I'm afraid the prognosis isn't good. I've been battling these buggers for a few months now in my 6 gallon, and also with one of my female bettas. Also sorry to tell you, but it is very contagious. The fish in the tank she was in probably are already infected, so you should treat both tanks if you decide to treat. I would suggest getting DiscoMed - it's a medication made by Aquatronics that treats these parasites. You can mix it with their food. Good luck.
