Alternanthera reineckii roseafolia: Davy's mystery plant
The needs of this plant are fairly easy to accomplish.
Lighting is Medium to very high (5-8 watts per gallon)
Temp 76-82* F
Hardness Tolerance is soft - hard
ph 5-8
Its not a fast growing plant, nor is it a slow growing plant
It's a reasonable plant for thr beginner, it's not beginner proof as some of the Crypt species are.
Propigation is done by cutting the plant and replanting the cutting in the substrait. This also helps the mother plant become bushier and more attractive.
As with most red plants the higher the wattage the stronger the color (CO2 helps plenty too.)
Hope this has helped a bit. Rose
