Red Tail Catfish

Hello,

I was just wondering if a Red Tail Catfish about a foot and half long now would live in an outdoor pond 10 ft by 10 ft (5 ft deep) in England??

Its currently in a tank in doors heated.

PS I did not buy the red tail as I know how big they can get!

Nope, they are a tropical fish and need tropical temperatures, they wouldnt last long outside at all, nor would any goldfish for that matter. Would probably eat any small fish then be unable to digest them because its too cold and die

And this species can get to 5 foot long, it angers me that they're still imported for the hobby.

Yes me too I think its cruel. Its not me that has got it, its someone else and its in a very small tank and I feel sorry for it.

See these quite often for sale at LFS's. They look brilliant when they're about 3" in the shop... Not so when they're about 5ft in a 8ft tank.

See if you can find an aquarium that will take it, if not try Monster Fish Keepers.
