Hi, i have a 125litre juwel rio and im about to order the lasts of the plants. I was just wondering if its possible to add red plants, such as ludwigia, in a tank that doesnt run CO2. Could you please give me some advice, and if the answer is no, then some nice looking alternatives to the ludwigia??

Thanks!!

Yes. Ludwigia derives The reddish color from the nutrients and lights, so as long as you have relatively high lighting and a dose of liquid fertilizer you should get a magnificent red color within te leaves of the plant

That's good to know, thanks. I just got a really healthy looking Telanthera plant that looks really similar to Ludwiga with the green & red leaves. I was worried that it needed CO2. That tank has 48 watts on a 20 gallon high so roughly 2.4 watts per gallon.

certain red plants do good in low light, certain plants remain red. Like these...

see here, the Alternanthera reineckii mini, grown under 2 t8's
