I need some help, if anyone has any idea's, thanks

Will Red Line Torpedo Barbs (roseline shark/Denison barb) mix with tetras and a black shark?
Will the black shark deck them and will they deck Neons, Penguin and Eucador tetra?

Cheers

hi what size tank we talking??
black sharks get huge as in 3ftish......and very aggresive as they grow n mature

Torpedo barbs will mix fine with most larger tetras and other barbs, however a black shark is not compatible with any of those,

Also keep in mind that torpedos are very active schooling fish that get up to 6". Most people will recommend at least a 55g tank for a group of 6.

Thanks for the replies, my tank size is about 48x15x18" (120x38x45cm) I've had the black shark for a couple of years and he hasn't managed to get over 6" seems to have stopped growing! He is not aggressive towards any of my fish, but as the Torpedo's are bigger, I'm worried he'll deck a good 40 quids worth of fish!

Are you sure its a black shark then? People seem to confuse the common name with Red Tailed Black sharks, and rainbow sharks. What does yours look like? Unless it really is a black shark, your torpedos should be fine. :)

Its a black shark, its totally black!

So, Black Shark + Red Lines = Bad news, right!?

sooner or later the shark will go bad,
I've had the misfortune of having to remove two very battered dead oscars from a display tank at work, where a black shark had turned on them during one night. up until then there was no real aggression shown from the shark

That's strange that it's only grown to six inches.

But I agree with Davo - black sharks are known for their aggression.

my black shark gets on fine with my torpedo barbs

Your a dude! Might give it a go, not sure yet :S Want to get some pleco's first!

Cheers for all your answers!

I would not put expensive barbs into same tank with black shark. Get rid the black shark and put roseline sharks in the tank. Black shark are aggressive and can reach more than 16 inch long in aquariums....

its up to you....

the only thing my black shark used to stress out was the common plec untill he grew bigger lol and the black ghost knife which i had to rehome
