Hello,

so I just had to get rid of my favorite female sword tail that had a strange bright red dot on the side of her body. The dot has been there for 2 days. The fish has been acting weird for the last 1 week. First she had fry that I did not see any babies from /that is her 4th fry and I usually get at least 10 babies out of each that were successfully hidden in the plants/ so I am thinking may be she had the fry dead. Another strange thing is that she usually hides in the plants a few days before having the fry but after her belly was gone she kept hiding in the plants for over a week now. She was coming out to eat and was acting normal when feeding. I saw her 2 times swimming still just above the air stone in the bubbles which was very strange for me. And then this red dot showed up. She was a red and white sword tail and i have had her for at least 6 months, may be about 4 inches large... That dot was not there before. It looked like she got hurt but in the same time the way she was acting was like she is sick. I just got done treating my tank with Tetra Lifeguard because a female guppy had a white spot on her scales, the spot is gone so I think the medicine worked. It is supposed to treat a wide variety of diseases and I have not added any fish from a store or snails or plants in the last 3 months, so everything looked strange to me. I have a male molly that has been getting super aggressive since he grew up a little larger- he is aggressive when I feed them trying to bite the rest of the mollies /sometimes they get in fights/ and I was thinking may be he could of hurt her. I did a water change yesterday and added a little salt... The only other thing I found on the internet that kind of looked like it was [background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Hemorrhagic Septicemia and it was saying that it is an ammonia spike related. I also read that Tetra Liguard could wipe some of the good bacteria in the tank and start the cycling again, my water was a little cloudy yesterday so I did a water change and washed the filter /my filter is a sponge one/. We euthanize the fish just because this freaked us out and did not want to have other fish getting sick if that is the case. I will check my water levels tomorrow and post them here.[/background]
