I was messing about with my camera the other day and snapped this shot of my Red Belly Pacu, he had his dorsal fin clamped, it was the first time I had seen him do it so I figured I should get a shot of it.

Oh yeah, I went fishing with a buddy of mine the other day...I'm going to miss him.

How big is that pacu?

Also, theres no way that slmon was caught in waters that the shark would be found in. It looks like its just hitting the fresh water on a breeding run.

The Pacu is about 8 inches, I have had him for about 6 months, when I got him, he was a whopping 1.5 inches long.

The second photo is completely doctored, the fish the guy is holding is actually a steelhead trout cought in one of the coastal rivers in Northern California and the photo of the white was taken of the coast of Catalina Island in Southern California, they were put together and sent to me as a joke.......

that last picture is rather scary!!

That pic's funny if you think through all of the points logically. :p River: no shark. Guy standing in water: not ocean.

Those colors are a lot better than the color in any of the pacus at petsmart or walmart, but go figure. :p

The second pic is fake becuase the shark's angle of attack is too angular, it would have only ~3' (approx. length of fisherman's legs underwater) to accomodate the rest of the sharks body (at least 9'). That picture shows that the shark is either on the ridge of a drop and it's mid-torso scraping along the surface or it's tail is buried into the sediment. Fake.

This, on the other hand, actually happened:

Nice pacu, btw. ;)

btw i think that shark jumping is fake.
No, yah think?

Edit:
Oh...I thought you were talking about troutfly's photo. I was getting kind of scared there for a moment when you said it was fake and she had already said that....

I'm not really sure whether that last pic of the white shark and the helicopter is real, but One thing that I do know for sure is that great whites are capable of jumping..saw a show on the discovery channel during shark week and they actually have white sharks jumping like free willy trying to catch a seal... Nice pacu though....lol...

No, it's not.

It a famous story of that picture winning a photography competition only to be revealed as a fake when someone came up with the source photos of the individual components.

here, for example is the shark...

Lovely Pacu though. ;)

Hmmm I feel like people are taking these pics a little too seriously.......

I guess it is fake but did you gusy ever see the footage of some south-african kid surfing and a HUGE great white jumping at him, while he was on the top of the wave, only managing to get a chunk of his hand?! truely awesome and terrifying

edit: sorry to get distracted :*) , nice pacu :)

OK, I am sorry aI started this much MUCK about a joke......

Sometimes, you people take things way to seriously, I figured you all were intelligent enough to know when I was joking (at least by the post you submit you are) and would get a kick out of this picture. I realize now that all of my humor is mis-guided and will not grace this forum with it again. When I post, I will make sure I DO NOT submit you to my American Brand of humor again. Do you actually think I would post a picture (wether it is a friend or not) of an individual being eaten by a shark??? Or be so cavilier about it when I do??? I know I have had personal conversation with many of you and those who have been involved in them realized from the git go that it was a rouse. I figured by the caption, I made it perfectly clear it was a joke. I, how ever knew right from the start that the second photograph was a fake on so many levels. The coloring, position of the shark (the rotor wash would occlude the sharks view of the guy on the ladder, and White Sharks have pretty good eye sight), but did I attack the person posting it? Let me answer that question....NO..and for the caption to read:
This, on the other hand, actually happened:
is indicitive of an out right attack.
