Just wanted some suggestions for a tank i want to get at at my university house.

I maybe just want one predator fish to start off, that doesn't grow much bigger so i won't need a new tank. I was looking at paroon sharks but i don't think anywhere near me stock it. Want some exciting! (like when i feed it etc..)

And also, what size tank would i need for it? (in litres). Ideally something not too big!

Thanks

I would suggest you think again

Paroon shark:

Native to the lower Mekong river running through China, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. It's also found in the Chao Phraya river in Thailand. The majority of the fish seen in the aquatic trade come from commercial farms.

Habitat
It's a pelagic species inhabiting main river channels and larger tributaries.

Maximum Standard Length
100" (250cm) and up to 300 kg in weight! Although it rarely reaches this size in captivity, it's easily capable of topping 48" (120cm).

Minimum Tank Size
Totally unsuitable for home aquaria. It's a very active open water species and tends to be skittish when kept in cramped conditions. This can lead to problems with the fish banging into the tank glass and items of decor, often resulting in injury. It's beyond the limits of most public aquaria to house one of these long-term.

Tank Setup
Not applicable.

Tank Setup
Not applicable.

Temperature
75 to 81°F (24 to 27°C)

pH Range
6.5 to 7.5

Hardness
As the species' natural waters are subject to annual flooding, water parameters can vary considerably over the course of each year. General hardness is thus not critical, and anywhere in the range 2-30°H would be acceptable.

Diet
It's omnivorous, but is primarily a meat-eater. In nature adults are known to be particularly fond of whole dog carcasses!

But found you the info just in case

go with some pihranas red bellies ! you would probs need a 450 litre for like 3 of thease but im not sure this is a guess

Yup i'm in the UK. Three foot tank? How many litres is that?

Any other suggestions?

Hmm, is there something i could buy that would be fine in say a 50 / 60 litre one? The fish above look nice, but was thinking something more along the lines of (looking wise), a shark! I understand i won't be able to look after a shark itself in a tank so small, but something like that that are predators (may be live fed, exciting to watch while being fed etc).. Sorry if i sound like a newby, but just trying to get across what i want!

not sure about a small predator like a shark, they grow quite big, these snakeheads attack there food, there the worst predator's that's why america banned them, myabe somthing like exadon's?
