Recognising Stress Or Breeding Stripes

I wondered how I could see the stress and breeding stripes on my female, if normally the stripes become visible by losing the colour on the body?

If your female isn't a Cambodian (flesh coloured) then you can see straight away if they are breeding or stress stripes.

Stress stripes are horizontal like this -------------
Breeding stripes are vertical like this |||||||||

Can't tell with Cambodian females as there is no colour on their body so you can only then tell from their posture.

I've never been able to see the stripes on my red cambodian, but I can tell because she looks like she swallowed a marble.

Jiji, yeah, that's what I thought. On my other female it is very clear, but she's blue. In which casedoes she look like she swallowed a marble? In the case of stress or breeding condition?

When she's ready to spawn..... that's marble time.

The only way I can tell with my girlie is if she's stressed her red fins will fade/pale a bit.

Ok, thanks to everybody! She is still young, but I do plan on breeding her with my CT male in the future.
