okay well I checked my freshwater elephantnose fish and it was sideways. it's eyes looked bad, and it only occasionally moved. immediately I seperated it from the other fish, and went online to seek treatment. but I can't find anything. so here are the symptoms:
1: drousy
2: sideways
3: swimming sideways when it does swim
4: has a cut on it's side (small one, not big enough to cause anything but infection which could be problem)

^^what could be wrong with it? please help.

hi there, the more info you can give us the better chance we have of making an effective diagnosis, can you please tell us the following

okay..............
tank size: 10 gallon (he is still small so not yet transporting it to larger tank)
the pH and ammonia are normal I believe......
I really don't know about the rest. srry.
symptoms: written above.
volume and frequency of water changes: 2/3 change every month or so.
no chemicals or media.
tank inhabitants: well, I have one mystic catfish, a small goldfish, and a gold gourami.
recent additions: large rock formation was placed when I put the elephant nose in; they need a place to hide.
no real exposure to chemicals.
no digital picture available.

do you not have your own test kit to check the levels then?

how long has the tank been set up? did you cycle it before adding fish and if so how did you do this?

also elephant noses are picky eaters, what are you feeding him and are you sure he's getting food?

Your tank overstocked with the goldfish they are massive waste producers.
The first goldfish alone needs 20 gallon, then double the fiilter size to the tank.
I would rehome the goldifsh if I were you.

When you say the fish eyes look bad do you mean bulging out.

You do a gravel vac and water change once a week when the tanks cycled.
I would take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.

yep i don't have a test kit.

cycling it before adding fish.........well i cleaned it a little bit and stuff. I did the normal bag transfer other then that.

I feed the elephant nose bloodworms, which i see him eat at night.

also, I only have 1 goldfish. i have another tank for it, and am going to transport it shortly.

the fishes eyes are just pale, they aren't bulgy at all.

tanks probably not cycled, read the link 'whats cycling' in my sig
