I have a 46 US Gal bowfront tank that I'm cosidering going to real plants. The tank has been up and running for 2 years. I currently have silk plants and other decorative items in the tank on top of 3/4 inch of rock bottom. The light in the tank is a double tube, although I am not sure what the wattage is.

I was hoping someone could give me some info on what i need to get started with real plants and what are good for beginners.

We currently have tinfoil barbs, cat sharks, a pleco and fire eel in the tank.

Any help you could give me would be aprreciated. :)

well firstly those fish will outgrow the tank... i beleive

for plants you need a very good lights source.. if possible 2 watts per gallon of water is good...

some plants need to have firtilizer too i beleive... im not very good with live plants as ive never had any :/
