Real Or Plastic?

Me again!! So many questions!!

Im thinking of moving to real plants in my aquarium to give the tank a little more 'flow' and natural movment, but ive been warned not to by several people as snails can be a serious problem in tropical tanks apparantly if i have real plants.
Plus i would need thinks to keep the plants 'living' ..

Im confused, i dont know what to believe anymore

I wouldn't worry about the snails, although it can become a problem.
If you don't overfeed your fish they should just die off.
Planted tanks with live plants look much better IMO, it also helps to keep the nitrates low.

Real plants look better & I think the fish prefer them tbh.
Snails can be a problem if you over feed your fish, a few can be beneficial.
Have a look on the planted forum for easy to grow plants.
I have a low tech set up in all my tanks & my plants are doing fine, my anubias is even beginning to flower

well its just the plastic plants are looking really tacky now and i want my tank to look more natural.
My plants would probably die knowing my luck

There are loads of easy to keep plants.

Jave fern, anubias, Amazon swords, cryptocorynes and the larger species of vallisneria are virtually indestructable.

Go for live.

I'd also add several of the hygrophilias to fluttermoth's list, so long as you're willing to prune occasionally.

I felt the same, I started with fake plants, but slowly changed to real.
The ones Fluttermoth has mentioned don't need a lot of care & will grow well

Im not sure of the names of the plants that i did get today, but i got a mixture, we will see how they go
