Yep thats right hes having a bit of a "rosie syndrome" I got 10 blue tetras yesterday, or rather I was bought 10 and now I have 7 we found 2 in his mouth and not found the other corpse, (but water stats are spot on, will keep an eye on them though). So I have had him up for sale for a day or two no interest though so taking him to to LFS who has agreed a trade in to a certain amount. I am also selling my headstanders as well, just not my thing anymore.

The tank is a Fluval Roma 240 with a Fluval FX5
So my stocking at the moment is

1 Aequidens Diadema (i think female)
7 Blue Tetras (want to up to 15)
1 L135
1 L235

I am thinking that I want more acaras, like Laetacaras and Krobia maybe an other Aequidens of some kind anyone got any ideas? I think that when I trade in my male HRP I will get a Laetacara Dorsiger that has been in the store for a while, they are one of my favorites and I think I will be able to do a straight trade.

I know I want to get a group of catfish for my tank, need something to zoom around and disturb the sand/plec poo. I am fairly set on cories ......but then I get tempted by hoplos......them I get tempted by pictus.....then I was thinking of a jaguar cat (but I think thats too big).

So yeah any ideas for cichlids or catfish? I think my Blue tetras will be good as dithers so far they are quite fast (arguably not fast enough) but with more peaceful fish it should be okay. Im open to any ideas at all.

lol thats where I got it from!!

Down to 5 tetras today this is ridiculous. Checked the water and its still good. My girlfriend bought them and I just couldnt say no to her lol Ive found Ive had to let her learn some of the lessons that we all do as we go on. I usually put my foot down and say no with things like this but I kind of thought they might work as they are pretty much adult.

To make things worse I suspect the A.Diadema is joining in with the munching as well..... :( going to take the tetras back today see if I can get at least some of my money back, think HRP will go tomorrow.

Probably stressed from the move, hence the Ich appearing, raise the temp to 30c, then start a course of meds, will clear up quick enough if caught early.

Yeah just been out to get some meds got the waterlife stuff, Ive heard good things about it just hoping the filter in my QT tank is okay it was turned off for a while but will keep an eye on the stats

How long should it take? To treat them do you think.

At least this is number 3 im a great believer in that stupid rule but it really is true as far as I am concerned, female HRP + the disaster that was the blue tetras and now this.

The other irony of this is the other night I was watching American Dad and it was the one where they get ich and I had a really bad fealing so much so that I turned it off. I guess Im back to my cant look at pictures of ich any more lmao.

The waterlife protozin (if thats what your using) is what I use and is very good, however, it says to dose on certain days, which sometimes doesnt catch the Ich parasite when its free swimming, so I always dose every day for 7 days.

Basically once the temp is up to 30c, then start the 1st dose, dose for 7 days and see how it goes, you may need to do a second round. The Ich parasite is only susceptible to meds once its free swimming, ie, once its dropped off the fish, which with 30c heat is usually around day 3-5, which is when the med says not to dose!! Hence why I dose daily for 7 days, now Ive even done this with a ghost knife (highly sensitive to meds) with no ill effects at all. Normally I wouldnt recommend ignoring the dosing instructions, however, having used this med a few times Ive found it works better this way.

Only reduce the temperature once your sure the Ich has gone completely and do a 50% water change and really good gravel vac prior to a second round of meds if you have to do a second round.

Thanks minxy Ill dose all days then they are in a bare 10g at the moment good job I still had it set up. If I keep them QT for a week after the ich has cleared up do you think they will be okay to add into the main tank then?
